Spectrophotometric Estimation of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride via Oxidative Coupling Reaction with p-Aminobenzophenone

In this research, a rapid, simple and accurate spectrophotometric approach was described for the estimation of phenylephrine hydrochloride in pure its drug forms. The suggested method based on oxidative coupling reaction with p-aminobenzophenone using potassium periodate as an oxidant. A taupe-red dye formed at room temperature showed maximum absorption 512 nm. linearity standard calibration curve compatible Beer's law within concentration range 2.0-20 μg/mL determination coefficient (r2=0.9986). apparent molar absorptivity sensitivity Sandell's index were calculated found to be values 0.552x104 L/mol.cm. 0.0368 μg/cm2, respectively. nature resulting has been studied between p-aminobenzophenoneand it equal 1:1. limits detection (LOD) quantification (LOQ) estimated 0.0094 0.0313 μg/mL, relative deviation error also they will 0.0715 0.0216 -0.0479% -0.0145%, recommended procedure applied assay drops injection no interferences observed from common additives drugs.
